It’s no wonder donkeys are so beloved. They’re quick learners whose unique personalities shine through the moment you meet them. PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk will introduce you to some special ones, not that they aren’t all special.
Regrettably, donkeys’ affectionate and social nature makes them vulnerable to exploitation and abuse – whether it’s being forced to perform backbreaking labour at India’s brick kilns or ferrying loads of visitors up hills all day at tourist destinations like the Greek island of Santorini. And that’s where PETA comes in!
